You might have noticed that Tech is radically disrupting the HR space at a phenomenal speed and our ways of working in HR is quickly becoming outdated.
We need to jump aboard the new HR band wagon and create a HR that is fit-for-future-purpose. Through strategic HR visioning and planning HR can reassess what areas of people management are vital to contributing to the organisations bottom line and its future goals. Ultimately, this will lead to HR gaining a seat at the proverbial table.
The world of HR is currently under enormous pressure from business to become “more strategic”. There isn’t a presentation, conference or paper without the words "HR" and "more strategic" in it. In most cases those two words can be simply translated to more work! However, that does not need to be the case.
HR’s boldest move is yet to be made but the future predicts that simplification and decluttering are on the cards. There is a fine line between people and business needs – but mark my words HR will be the ones to reconnect the dots.
"My goal is to simplify complexity. I just want to build stuff that really simplifies our base human interaction."
- Jack Dorsey
As technology changes the way we work, live and communicate, HR is being forced to reassess the way it operates. To make the people impact it needs future thinking and strategic planning which are two core skills that are necessary for the future. Being strategically skilled will empower HR to gain a seat at the proverbial table and positively impact the business bottom line. Strategic HR visioning and future planning allows HR to reassess what areas of people management are vital to contributing to the organisation’s bottom line and articulate them in terms of increased profit margins and earnings ratios. Ultimately, strategic HR planning allows you to focus on what’s really important in the organisation.

"I was exposed to ideas and concepts that were new and exciting, despite having spent 20 years training people."
"I was encouraged that there is someone like Alexia standing up and showing that there is so much more that HR practitioners can do and so many more interesting ways in which they can add value to their organisations. Also, that the HR practitioners have a responsibility to rise to the challenge within their organisations and lead the way in creating a more inclusive business strategy."
